Looking back on our first term at Papercourt Studio...

As we come to the end of our first time at this fabulous new space , I have to say a big thank you! to all involved. It was a hard slog to get the studio decorated and organised in the Christmas hols and ready to start the new term in January, but we did it!

With Juliet Essling rallying the troops for adult classes and me flying the flag for Woking Arts Work children's classes, a successful first term to say the least!

Juliet managed to inspire her new students with a variety of themes from mixed media landscapes to creative ceramics, with outstanding results. Students say they find the workshops both relaxing and rewarding and have all signed up for next term.

Woking Arts Work's Saturday classes started 5 years ago with 2 pupils on a Saturday morning to now 54! with all 3 classes full to the brim. The children love the new space and from the lovely positive, end of term emails I have received from parents, they seem pretty pleased too.

I also loved using Papercourt Studio to run my solo Art Exhibition www.grainneroche.com. The hanging system was perfect and the footfall on the night was phenomenal!

I am receiving lots of interest from artists an tutors, looking to rent the studio to run their own classes as well as exhibitions, so watch this space for more to come!

Next up... Surrey Artists Open Studios on the 1st to 16th June 2019. Papercourt Studio will be open to the public on the 1st June, with drop in sessions for children too.
